André Guèye Becomes Archbishop of Dakar

Passion Project Secured!

A great moment for Bishop André Guèye: in February of this year, he was appointed Archbishop of Dakar, the metropolitan diocese in Senegal, by the then -Pope Francis. A high honor! But his greatest concern was not the new tasks – it was the boarding school “Pater Albert Pouget” in Pallo. For almost ten years, the boarding school has enabled children and young people from the remote village to attend school in the village community of Mont Rolland. For André Guèye, his appointment as archbishop also meant a change of location – raising the question of whether the project close to his heart would continue to be supported. Fortunately, he can rest assured: The Hahnair Foundation, which has been supporting the project since 2014, has assured the archbishop of continued funding. Archbishop Guèye can therefore devote himself to his new office in peace – in the knowledge that the children and young people of Pallo still have a perspective.
