Amigos de San Cristóbal opens 2026 by officially launching a new cycle of community-led development work, signing agreements with 16 partner civil society organizations across the Los Altos region of Chiapas. The supported projects address key priorities such as health and prevention, contextual and intercultural education, women’s rights and lives free from violence, youth leadership, cultural initiatives, and environmental sustainability.

The newsletter also highlights how the foundation is strengthening its own operations through MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning) and governance training, alongside a fundraising consultancy aimed at diversifying income and improving long-term financial sustainability. In parallel, Amigos is expanding learning and collaboration through partnerships with academic institutions, Comunalia, and Connecting Communities in the Americas. Finally, field visits to 10 projects in March mark the start of a new monitoring system, establishing baselines and deepening relationships with communities, and readers are invited to support the work through membership renewals and donations.
